Mr. Derby provides executive level oversight for the planning and execution of a portfolio of real estate deals and develops creative solutions to projects using his extensive understanding of real estate finance, investment, and development. Mr. Derby joined Edgemoor in January of 2006 and since then has played a major role in devising and implementing turnkey strategies for Edgemoor projects, including the Arlington Mill Community Center and Mixed Use Development. Prior to joining Edgemoor Real Estate Services, Mr. Derby was Senior Vice President for Concord Eastridge, Inc. and its predecessor, The Eastridge Companies, LLC, where he was responsible for formulating national and regional business strategies. In addition, he conceptualized and executed real estate development and financing plans for public-private and traditional real estate projects. Earlier in his career, Mr. Derby served as a Director with Arthur Andersen’s Real Estate Capital Markets Group where he was responsible for the execution of private placement debt and equity transactions exceeding $500 million in gross capitalization. He was also an acquisitions manager with First Washington Realty Trust where he assisted in the purchase of over $100 million of grocery anchored shopping centers.
Mr. Derby holds a Master of Science in Real Estate Development from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the University of Maryland.
